This school year was Gabby and Lilly's first year in preschool. To say they loved it would be such an understatement. They had so, so much fun! They started the year as toddlers and have ended as little girls, full of curiosity and a desire to learn. I am inspired by them daily!

The preschool they attend is about a 25 minute drive from our house. That coupled with having a newborn this spring might be enough for some to decided to send their kiddos elsewhere in future years. However, that isn't the case with us! We are in love with all the opportunities they have and social, emotional, and educational development we've seen over the past year.
The end of year unit was about space. The kids got to paint a planet. Their school does both individual and community art activities. This is something the whole class did together.

This is another community painting project. They painted their own 'solar system.' :)
All of their projects are like this. You won't find coloring book pages or cutesie artwork come with our girls. But what they do bring home is full of creativity, imagination, and exploration. I love it!

This is the card their teachers sent home with them this summer. The character in the far right picture is named 'Readella.' Readella would make an appearance every now and then at preschool and read great books to the students! Gabby and Lilly were always so excited at pick-up time to tell me if Readella made a visit to OU preschool! Apparently Gabby noticed one day that Readella and Miss Crystal wore the same shoes. She told Miss Crystall about the twinkie shoes and all the sudden Readella started showing up with different shoes on! Leave it to Gabby to notice the shoes! :)

Class Photo...I just love all the different personalities. Lilly is on the left in her OU gear. Gabby is on the right.

The girls and I made their teachers a jar full of cookies for teacher appreciation week! We made alphabet cookies and special tags for each teacher. Because their school is a lab school on campus where undergraduate and graduate students work to gain experience as they work towards being teachers themselves, we had lots of gifts to make! Three regular teachers, 3 different teachers one day awake, and 3 others another day of the week!

These are G & L's everyday teachers Miss Crystal, Miss Sara, and Miss Jennifer. These girls were fabulous with all the kids. Gabby and Lilly adore them! We are very fortunate that all 3 will be back in the fall to help teach again!
